Epsom's Got Talent!
15 August 2009
Talented 24 year-old Ben Ferguson from Surbiton entertained the
crowds with stunning performances from some of the King of Pop's
famous dance routines, to help raise money for The Children's
Trust, the centre's chosen charity. Ben, who has worked at
Epsom's House of Fraser for two years as a sales assistant, raised
£144.25. Staff from Marks & Spencer also showed their
support for the fundraising day at the centre, by modelling some of
the shop's latest fashions in the store window and collecting
£250. In total, the Ashley Centre's 25p challenge, which
encourages visitors to donate 25p, has raised an amazing £1,597.00
(as at 15/8).
Ben said: "I have been inspired by Michael Jackson's dances and
I am delighted the crowds enjoyed my performances to help me raise
money for a very worthy cause."
Allegra Scott, Community Fundraising Manager at The Children's
Trust said: "I would like to thank everyone who took part in this
fundraising event: The Ashley Centre, Ben Ferguson, Marks &
Spencer, House of Fraser and the public who kindly donated money to
the collection tins."
Other activities, to keep children entertained, will be taking
place in the Ashley Centre during August in support of The
Children's Trust, a national charity based in Tadworth, which
provides care, education and therapy for children with multiple
disabilities and complex health needs, and rehabilitation services
to children with an acquired brain injury. For more
