Epsom shoppers meet a polar bear

On Saturday 4 December Epsom shoppers were rewarded for braving
the arctic conditions when they met an incredibly lifelike polar
bear in The Ashley Centre!
With blinking eyes, a sniffing nose, an opening mouth and live
animal sounds the polar bear astonished the crowds with its
lifelike appearance.
General Manager David Beddows said: "After last week's snow and
ice visitors to the Centre were delighted to come across our polar
bear which is a spectacular feat of animatronic engineering. This
was the first time the Polar Bear had been brought to Epsom and we
were overwhelmed with the number of people who wanted to come and
meet him!"
