Help for Haiti in The Ashley Centre

Shoppers in The Ashley Centre have generously donated
over £8,000 to the Haiti Disaster Fund during January.
On Saturday 16 January The Rotary Club of Epsom raised almost
£3,000 for the fund with more donations still coming in. The
following weekend on Saturday 23 January, 7th Epsom Scouts
collected over £5,000 in the Centre and Marks & Spencers.
Throughout 2009 over £30,000 has been raised in The Ashley
Centre following a number of fundraising activities. These have
included the 25p Challenge for The Children's Trust Tadworth, a
charity gift wrap service for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, a
number of choirs who sang for a variety of different charities over
Christmas including Epsom Medical Equipment Fund and many charity
collections including the British Heart Foundation, Cancer Research
UK and British Legion Poppy Appeal.
General Manager David Beddows said: "We are delighted to be able
to help charities with their fundraising efforts throughout the
year, and are astonished and humbled by the generosity of our
shoppers. The Haiti Appeal is at the forefront of the news
currently, and we are so pleased that the Scouts and the Rotary
have achieved such fantastic sums."
