The 25p Challenge - help us to fundraise!
12 July 2009
The Ashley Centre is kick starting an exciting 25p Challenge to
raise money for The Children's Trust in Tadworth who are jointly
celebrating their 25th anniversary in 2009.
Throughout August shoppers will be encouraged to donate 25p to
the charity as part of the Centre's 25th anniversary celebrations.
A giant thermometer will update the public as to how much has been
donated during the month and how close to the stretch target of
£25,000 they are. Collection boxes will be situated throughout the
centre and in the shops.
The Ashley Centre's General Manager David Beddows said: "We
welcome at least 130,000 people through our doors each week and it
only takes 100,000 people to donate 25p each to raise £25,000. If
everyone donates a little bit, it can make a big difference! We are
really excited to be supporting The Children's Trust as they are
our chosen charity for the year and we are both celebrating our
25th anniversaries."
The Ashley Centre is hosting lots of kids activities over August
and any donations at these events will be gratefully received. The
activities include Harry Potter themed events, face painting and
history clubs for children.
The Children's Trust and The Ashley Centre are also encouraging
local community organisations, shops and businesses to get involved
and do their bit to help towards the £25,000 stretch target.
The Children's Trust is a national charity, based in Tadworth,
which provides care, education and therapy for children with
multiple disabilities and complex health needs, and rehabilitation
services to children with an acquired brain injury. For
