The Ashley Centre lights up Christmas
29 November 2010
On Saturday 27 November 2010, thousands of people came to
The Ashley Centre to see the annual turning on of the Christmas
lights and enjoyed a magical afternoon of free events for the whole
family.
The cast of the Epsom Playhouse pantomime Dick Whittington
joined Father Christmas to turn on the lights and start the festive
celebrations. During the afternoon shoppers had enjoyed face
painting, balloon modelling, magic shows and stilt walkers before
the crowds gathered to enjoy a stunning concert of popular
Christmas carols performed by The Vale School Choir.
Stars from this year's Epsom Playhouse family pantomime Dick
Whittington and His Wonderful Cat performed a show from the
balcony next to Waterstone's. After the light switch on the panto
cast and Father Christmas met the crowds, gave out chocolates
and posed for photographs with fans.
